San Diego Gas & Electric

Utilizing our affiliate company, TCI of Alabama, Transformer Technologies successfully removed equipment from 5 separate substations in Southern California. Two substations required removal of transformers, circuit breakers, lattice towers and auxilliary equipment; Two substations required removal of untested bushings; and One substation required removal of two large transformers. Transformer Technologies arranged the Hazardous Material hauling and worked with TCI of Alabama to test and process the bushings. All transportation, crane work, and demolition was coordinated to minimize substation disruption and fit the customer's schedule.

GWP - Howard Substation
Glendale, CA

Transformer Technologies was contracted by Glendale Water & Power to remove three 35,000 pound transformers from their Howard Substation in downtown Glendale. The logisitcs made this job interesting! The substation was surrounded by a 25' wall and was located in a busy area of the city. Transformer Technologies arranged for the oil removal, crane service, and transportation to have minimal impact on the City. The lifts went smoothly and closure of a portion of the street was held to a short timeframe.

Eugene Water and Electric Board - Willamette Substation

EWEB required the complete teardown of an obsolete substation. Transformer Technologies provided a detailed Scope of Work to remove 35,000 gallons of oil, three large transformers, six large OCB’s, all PT’s, CT’s, capacitor banks, lattice towers, and structures. TCI of Alabama was utilized to process three PCB Contaminated OCB’s. This fixed price job was completed on time, with minimal customer assistance, and with complete regulatory compliance.

Cowlitz County PUD
Longview, WA

Cowlitz PUD desired a long term contract with a service provider who could process a variety of items, and comply with EPA and Washington Department of Ecology WPCB regulations. Transformer Technologies proposed solutions for oil service, transportation, distribution and substation equipment recycling, and miscellaneous equipment processing. To facilitate a long term contract, pricing was indexed to copper and steel scrap values.
